Social Media Manager
Role Overview
Talons is looking for a highly organized, execution-driven Social Media& Content Production manager to coordinate marketing efforts across platforms. This role works closely with the founder, Creative Director, Marketing Director, external partners, and creators.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Creative Coordination
- Translate marketing briefs used to refine the strategy across social media channels, including: Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest (to be considered for later)
- Create social strategy inspiration material (e.g. decks)
- Define strategic ideas aligned with trends and communities (Gen Z, festival culture, queer, grooming/fashion scenes, etc.)
- Work closely with the Creative Director to translate marketing needs into creative deliverables
Content Calendars
- Build a consistent pipeline of content that feels native and on-brand and coordinated with monthly content calendars to ensure consistent messaging & launches delivered in advance for TikTok + META (posts, reels, stories) + compilation + scheduling
- 21-day content map (reels, carousels, graphics, static images)
- Mix of 3-4 posts per week per platform
- Support execution of brand activations and events (pre,during, post)
Content Creation
- 12-15 IG stories per month (multi-slide)
- Video editing: transitions, subtitles, overlays
- Caption writing
- Creative direction + producing short videos, editing reels, and developing copy that fits the brand voice
- Light graphic design (branded assets, text overlays, meme formats, UGC-style posts)
- Adapt assets + messaging so they are appropriate for each platform (without watering down the brand)
Publishing & Optimization
- Posting at high-traffic times for both platforms
- Daily follower growth using in-app boosted posts (small target boosts designed to expand reach and audience awareness)
- Ensure content is properly formatted and delivered for each platform
- Maintain organization of campaign assets and timelines
- Sourcing & resharing relevant third-party content, user-generated content, or press coverage.
Community Management
Maintaining a lively inbound environment that feels personal, impactful, and aligned with the brand's identity.
- Manage daily community engagement via inbound comments + DMs, partnering with operations when needed (e.g. "where's my order")
- Conduct outreach via outbound DMs to those engaging with Talons social channels
- Coordinate gifting/seeding, track relationships
- Support TikTok creator with caption creation + posting coordination
Influencer & Ambassador Program Management
- Identify relevant UGC creators + influencers (men's fashion creators, festival goers, queer creatives, the expressive entrepreneur, etc.)
- Supporting outreach through DMs to build relationships and coordinate collaborations
- Supporting inbound messaging
- Negotiation for influencer seedings, gifting and content coordination
- Identifying potential brand ambassadors & coordinating content ideas and topics
- Managing comms, deliverables, and relationship building
- Helping shape a longer-term ambassador strategy aligned with where Talons is headed
What Success Looks Like
- Campaigns are executed smoothly across all channels
- Social channels are active, responsive, and growing with a consistent voice
- Creators and UGC relationships consistently generate content (outreach > posts)
- Execution supports brand storytelling and product launches
How We’ll Measure Progress
- Weekly output: calendar shipped, posts published, engagement handled, outreach sent, creator pipeline updated
- Campaign execution: on-time launches, clean handoffs, channel alignment
- Growth signals: follower growth, engagement rate trends, viewership, creator content volume to name a few.
- We’d look to co-create metrics that highlight social media engagement and a cadence of reporting
