Production Assistant

Role:

Your role is to ensure that the talent and crew are supported and managed so that the photographer and/or director can focus entirely on capturing the shot.  To be successful in this role you will need to carry out duties including but not limited to managing administrative tasks, assisting with wardrobe, props and gear, and managing the talent and crew.

Pre-requisites:

Highly organized

Strong communication skills

Be familiar with proper Talons application and removal techniques

Responsibilities:

Pre-shoot

• Coordinate with content creator and creative director 1-2 days prior to shoot
• familiarize with shoot plan, talent, supplies, support roles, etc.
• Get contact info for all booked talent and crew
• create group chat if necessary
• Print copies of:
• Shoot plan
• Pose guide
• Talent release forms
• Nail Application Rules for Shoots
• Gather any required supplies
• Talons sets, adhesives, adhesive remover, files, clippers, etc.
• Grooming supplies (hair products, brush, moisturizer, etc.)
• Wardrobe
• Props
• Coordination of food and beverage/catering services

During Shoot

• Ensure all talent and crew are able to locate and access the location
• Ensure all talent checks in on time and signs the release form
• Support content creator and creative director by tracking shoot progress and timing, communicating about and mitigating any issues that may arise
• Support photographer/director when requested; this could mean holding a light reflector, standing in to mark a shot, passing them something they need, holding a ladder, etc.
• Manage and support Talent nail application, wardrobe, and grooming; checking to make sure everything is aligned to the shoot plan and looks good before they go in front of the camera for each shot/session
• Ensure all nails are applied to talent appropriately (model-design-shot alignment, fit, direction, design, adhesion, trim, shaped/filed)
• Keep all supplies organized and available
• Manage backstage/off frame, ensure the set is clean and quiet when video is being shot, etc.
• Manage food and beverage distribution
• Manage any other outside vendors or services required throughout the shoot

Post Shoot

• Help break down set, pack up supplies, clean and leave no trace at the shoot location
• Return all supplies, wardrobe, nail sets, and signed forms to appropriate locations/parties
• Debrief with creative director
