Talons started with a moment of self-expression at Burning Man. Our founder, Sasha, got his nails done in an effort to live the principle of Radical Self-Expression. Suddenly, strangers became friends. Compliments turned into conversations. A simple style choice became a powerful statement.
It was clear there was untapped potential, but nothing in the nail world was designed with men in mind. The salon experience as a man was awkward and felt inaccessible. Polish removal was messy and time consuming. And press-ons? They were narrow, flimsy, and clearly made for someone else. The industry was telling men they didn’t belong.
